The British Arrows 2017 Winners Announced

The prestigious awards hand out a total of 106 Arrows, comprising 38 Golds, 36 Silvers and 32 Bronzes.

The British Arrows announced the winners for their first combined show.

Hosted by Rob Delaney, comedian/actor who is well-known for his role in Catastrophe on Channel 4, over 1,100 people attended the show at Battersea Evolution to celebrate and honour all the winners across 27 CAMPAIGNS categories and 24 CRAFT categories.

Commercial of the Year was won by ‘We’re the Superhumans’, made for Channel 4 by 4creative and ‘Coming Home’ for Waitrose by adam&eveDDB and Rogue won Best Crafted Commercial. Agency of the Year was awarded to adam&eveDDB and Production Company of the Year was awarded to Blink.

There were a total of 106 arrows awarded on the night - 38 Golds, 36 Silvers and 32 Bronzes.

adam&eveDDB won 3 Golds with ‘Designated Driver’ for The AA, ‘Come Together’ for H&M, and John Lewis Christmas campaign ‘Buster the Boxer’. ‘Buster the Boxer’ won 3 Golds and 3 Silvers across CAMPAIGNS and CRAFT categories.

David Kolbusz at Droga5, Chair of the CAMPAIGNS Jury commented “I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the entrants who submitted, as well as the enormously talented jury who helped to pick the cream. I’d also like to thank the brave clients who bought the winning work and the people on both agency and production side who helped conceive of and shepherd it through to completion.”

Lee Pavey at Electric Theatre Collective, Chair of the CRAFT Jury commented “As the chair I would like to thank all the craft entrants but especially I would like to thank the Jury who gave up their precious time and spent twenty hours in a dark cinema watching commercials. Their love for the British Advertising industry was unwavering and it was a pleasure to be there with them.”

Over the past 40 years, British Arrows had always hosted two shows - one celebrating the best ideas and commercials of the year, the other celebrating the best craftsmanship. Earlier this year, British Arrows announced their new event and combined CAMPAIGNS and CRAFT into one awards show to celebrate the best work the entire moving image advertising industry has to offer, since any great piece of work is a magical combination of idea and craft.
